The Mörksugga — literally "the dark sow" — is one of the older, stranger figures from Swedish folk tradition. For centuries, people in rural Sweden believed she wandered at dusk, a shadowy animal that brought unease to those who crossed her path. Not evil. Not harmless. Something in between.
This hand-painted wooden figure is made in Sweden, in the same tradition as the Dala horse. Small variations in shape and paint are part of her character — no two are exactly alike.
She is not a souvenir. She is a piece of a much older story.

Recycled wood is used for the production of the horses and all the paints used are certified as safe for the environment. All Dala horses are hand-carved and handmade.
