Unique Viborg Dala horse, named after a small village in Dalarna, Sweden. Hand-carved and hand-painted in Sweden.
The earliest reference of wooden horses for sale is from 1624, nearly 400 years ago. Decorated toy horses were being sold from some of the villages of Mora as early as the first half of the 19th century. Loggers spent long periods in the forest and carved Dala horse in the evenings by the log fire, as a present to bring their children back home. In modern times, the Dala horse has become a symbol of Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general.
This is handmade. Every Dala horse is unique and the pattern and colors of the ornaments can be slightly different from the photo.

Recycled wood is used for the production of the horses and all the paints used are certified as safe for the environment. All Dala horses are hand-carved and handmade.
